Privacy and security

In short

Recordings, transcripts and voice profiles stay on your device unless you export them or use the cloud features described in the Privacy Policy. In Sangei Cloud mode, with your agreement, live recognition sends the meeting audio and live translation sends text. In Balanced mode the audio stays on the device. Re-read and cloud imports upload recordings; cloud reports send transcripts.

What stays on your device, and what is sent

Meetings are recorded on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Audio is sent only in Sangei Cloud mode, with your agreement, or when you choose Re-read or a cloud import.

On your Mac, iPhone or iPad

In Local and Balanced modes, this all happens on the device.

  1. Microphone or meeting audio
  2. Recording
  3. Transcript and speakers

Sent only when you use a cloud feature

  • Text; audio too, in Sangei Cloud mode

    Live translation with Sangei Cloud

Balanced mode sends only text the device cannot translate. Sangei Cloud mode, with your agreement, sends the audio for live recognition and each line’s text for translation.

  • The recording, only when you choose Re-read or cloud import

Re-read, or import with Sangei Cloud

The recording is uploaded, and we don't keep it after the job.

  • On-device translation

    Nothing leaves the device.

The Privacy Policy also covers cloud reports, participant lists and how long information is kept. Read the Privacy Policy

What stays on your device

  • Meeting recordings
  • Imported participant files
  • Saved voice profiles
  • Transcripts and translations

These stay on your device unless you export them or use a cloud feature.

Sangei Cloud

In Sangei Cloud mode, with your agreement, Sangei Cloud hears the meeting audio for live recognition and receives each line’s text for translation. In Balanced mode the audio stays on the device. Re-read, or importing with Sangei Cloud, uploads the recording. Sangei Cloud does not keep the audio or its text. With on-device translation, nothing leaves the device.

macOS permissions

  • Microphone access, when you capture your microphone.
  • Screen & System Audio Recording, only if you capture Mac system audio.

Retention and deletion

Meetings, recordings, and voice profiles are stored locally. You can delete them in the app at any time; exported files are yours to keep or remove.

iCloud and sync

If I sign in on someone else's device, will my meetings go to their iCloud?

No. iCloud sync starts off on every device for each KaigiFlow account; your meetings go to that device's iCloud only if you turn sync on there yourself.

Why don't my meetings show on my other device?

Meetings sync through iCloud. They appear on your other devices only when those devices are signed in to the same KaigiFlow account and the same Apple ID, with iCloud sync switched on in KaigiFlow. If your iPhone, iPad and Mac use different Apple IDs, each keeps its own meetings — this includes recordings and continuing a meeting on another device.

Questions people ask

Meeting capture, supported languages and what happens to your recordings.

Does my audio leave my device?

In Local mode, no. In Balanced mode, the audio stays on your device. In Sangei Cloud mode, with your agreement, Sangei Cloud hears the meeting audio for live recognition. Re-read and cloud imports also send recordings. Sangei Cloud does not keep the audio or its text. The Privacy Policy explains these choices, cloud reports and how long information is kept.

Can I delete my meeting recordings?

Yes. You can delete meetings and voice profiles in the app. Recordings and other local meeting information remain on your device unless you export them or use the cloud features described in the Privacy Policy. Exported files are yours to manage separately. Cloud processing follows the retention periods in that policy.
